SETUP MONITOR TESTING
Your test will run at (same hour) every day. It will email you every day. You for a while…
If the achieved results in the test = expected results, all results will be marked GREEN and the email is marked normal. If any achieved results <> expected results, that result is marked RED and the email is marked urgent. You want your test to reliably run GREEN or alter the test.
FAIL MONITORED SYSTEM
Once system proves consistent operation, fail your monitored system and see the effect as the test runs. In other words, pull the ISDN PRI, cut the power, etc.. Make sure this causes a RED failure.
CHANGE YOUR REPORTS EMAIL DESTINATION
So…”after a while”, you need to ask us to change the test to EMAIL ONLY URGENT (failed) tests. Once this happens, we will help you setup a 2nd email address on your Smartphone called EMERGENCY@(your domain name) or EMERGENCY@gmail.com that when emailed, makes your Smartphone sound an alarm!
ESTABLISH RESTORE PROCEEDURE WITH INFOTEL SYSTEMS
Then we create a restore scenario and have it on file with us such as “Upon alarm, customer to go to office and assess problem. Must call Infotel to stop Infotel response. Infotel to respond to Bob's cell, then Mary's cell then finally the center if no call within 30 minutes. Bring key. Alarm code is xxxxx”
